“One of the officers observed three of them running. They separated and as he chased two, he caught one out of the corner of his eye jump off the bridge over the Mianus River and that’s where he lost sight of him.”

Lt Gray said police contacted the marine division because police thought it was possible a suspect was in the water. Marine Police who arrived by boat, spotted two suspects hiding in the reeds. The Marine Police coordinated with Patrol Officers who caught those two suspects.

“NYPD called us and said they located the Jeep in the Bronx,” Gray said, adding that the car was stolen at the exact time as the Mercedes-Benz.

“We’re operating off the theory this is the same group of youths,” he said. “But no arrests were made in conjunction with the Jeep Wrangler.”
