Greenwich Police are warning residents of a third significant weather event scheduled to hit the state on Monday night and Tuesday.
For Greenwich, the National Weather Service has forecasted snow overnight on Monday, mainly after 1:00am, with a low around 30°, wind chill values between 20 and 25 and a 90% chance of precipitation. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
On Tuesday, they forecast snow before 5:00pm, with new accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible and a high near 39°.
Greenwich Police Department warn residents to be prepared for snow, high winds and possible power outages.
“A third winter storm warning has been issued for the area. 4 to 6 inches of new snow is expected with a wintry mix starting tonight and lasting throughout the day Tuesday,” Lt Slusarz wrote in a statement Monday morning. “Residents are asked to prepare for this storm in the same way as the last two, and listen to weather forecasts.”
The Friday March 2 Nor’Easter packed a wallop on Greenwich with near Treepocalypse conditions. The second storm, which hit on Thursday March 8, resulted in more power outages and road closures due to downed trees and wires, and schools closed across town.
