Mary Jo Broadbent, a longtime resident of Greenwich, passed away on February 26, 2018. She was 96. Born in Detroit, MI on August 26, 1921, the daughter of Frederick and Anne Gartlan.
She was predeceased by her sweet and loving husband, Edward Broadbent, and her two sisters Anne Heinl and Margory McGowan. Mary Jo is survived by four children Eric Broadbent (Amy), Paul Broadbent (Rebecca), Laura Broadbent Williamson, Larry Broadbent (Patricia), 13 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
She was very active at St. Paul RC Church as a lector and chairman of the Liturgical Committee. Mary Jo also volunteered for 27 years at Neighbor to Neighbor and was a member of AARP in Glenville.
To honor her life family and friends will gather on Thursday, March 1 from 4:00-8:00pm at Coxe and Graziano Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Avenue, Greenwich.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 3 at 12:00pm at St. Paul RC Church, 84 Sherwood Avenue, Greenwich., followed by committal at North Greenwich Congregational Church.
