Highland Fling, the Bruce Museum’s 28th annual Renaissance Ball, took the oldest of the traditional dances of Scotland as its inspiration, and was a nod to the heritage of the Museum’s founder Robert Moffat Bruce.
Thanks to the inspiration of co-chairs Patricia Chadwick and Kathy Georgas, and the vision of Décor Committee co-chairs Carolyn Dempsey of Carolyn Dempsey Designs and Linda Ruderman of Linda Ruderman Designs, the nearly 330 guests at the June 6th event enjoyed a special evening to support the Bruce Museum.
With beautiful, custom-designed tables, ambient lighting and a contemporary Scottish vibe, guests were transported to a land of kilts, tartan and bagpipes.
Leora and Steven Levy were honored for their exemplary and long-standing dedication to the Museum. There was an active live auction that included a stunning Bulgari necklace, stays at private homes on Kauai, St. Barts and in South Africa, an exclusive vacation at Skibo Castle and a train ride through the Scottish Highlands. C. Hugh Hildesley of Sotheby’s led the live auction and paddle raise. Guests danced the night away with the ever-popular Hank Lane Music. Proceeds raised from the Renaissance Ball benefit art and science education initiatives at the Bruce Museum.
Thank you to those who helped make this year’s Renaissance Ball a success: Amica Insurance, Bulgari, Carolyn Dempsey Design, GWay Marketing Gymnasium, Hank Lane Music, Horseneck Wines & Liquors, Linda Chase-Jenkins and Arthur L. Jenkins III, MD, Linda Ruderman Interiors, Greenwich Magazine/Moffly Media, Northern Trust, Smith Party Rentals, Sotheby’s, Stamford Tent & Event Services, Susan E. Lynch, Susan and Bill Mahoney, and all of the dedicated committee chairs and members, guests, donors and event volunteers.
