On Friday, June 12, the Julian Curtiss School community gathered to celebrate the graduation of its 5th grade students with its annual Ringing Out Ceremony.
The long-standing tradition allows each fifth grader to cross the stage, shake the principal’s hand and ring the school bell symbolizing the end of their time at the school.
Julian Curtiss School prides itself on our international and diverse character. This year’s graduating class of 69 students was a great representation of Julian Curtiss – among them were a number of students who speak more than one language as well as 15 students who were born in another country.
Principal McGuire remarked, “This class is special to me. When many of them began their journey at Julian Curtiss six years ago, I began my position as Principal at Julian Curtiss. It’s been a pleasure to grow and learn together.”
In addition to the bell ringing, the ceremony includes the presentation of numerous awards to current and graduating students. Individuals were honored for many accolades including perfect attendance, art club, music, service club, world languages and good citizenship.
