Francis A. Fatta, of Greenwich, passed away Saturday May 6th. He was born in Brooklyn September 6, 1935 to Gaetano and Onofria Fatta (nee Lupo).
Frank proudly served in the United States Army for six years. Upon being honorably discharged from the Army, Frank worked as a graphic designer working for General Foods before starting his own design firm, Frank Fatta Design, where he designed for many leading national brands such as Kraft, Pepsico, Nestle, and the NFL.
He married his beloved wife Margaret (nee Devine) on February 22, 1960. Frank was very involved in St. Catherine’s parish and Our Lady Star of the Sea, Stamford, serving on numerous committees and as a lay minister.
He also served on the boards and committees for numerous community organizations such as the Red Cross, St. Mary High School, Catholic Middle School, and the National Committee for Alzheimer’s.
He was a devoted sports enthusiast especially to his beloved Jets and Yankees, and was a proud member of the Milbrook Club where he enjoyed many happy years.
Frank leaves behind his beloved wife of 57 years, Margaret; his devoted children, Norine, Thomas and his wife Mary Alice, and Mia and her husband Alex Martinez. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Bella Martinez, Frankie Fatta and Tommy Fatta.
The family would like to thank the staff in the Intensive Care Unit at Greenwich Hospital and to the staff at Nathaniel Witherell for their kindness and compassionate care.
His long battle with serious illnesses was a testament to his courage. Frank cherished life and lived for his family, friends and faith.
To honor his life, family and friends will gather Tuesday 4:00pm-8:00pm at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home 134 Hamilton Ave. Greenwich (203) 869-5968. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday 10:00am at St. Catherine of Siena. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Greenwich.
