The annual Paper Shredding event is set for Saturday, April 22nd, at Island Beach parking lot. Shredding will be done on-site between 9:30am and 12:30pm.
This event is Sponsored by The First Bank of Greenwich and Santaguida Sanitation. Volunteers from Greenwich Recycling Advisory Board and Greenwich Green & Clean organized the event, and volunteers from Boys & Girls Club who will be on hand to assist with traffic flow and shredding.
Rules for the event:
1. Maximum 6 boxes per car
2. Cost per box is $2
3. Remove All cardboard, plastic, bindings, metal clips, newsprint. Shred only documents.
4. Paper must be in box or rigid container. Paper in bags will NOT be accepted.
5. Wait in car. Volunteers will empty boxes. Let volunteer know if you want your box returned.
6. Greenwich Residents
Also, volunteers from The Undies Project Inc will be available to accept a donation of new, unused underwear for men, women, children. These items will be distributed through Neighbor to Neighbor, Kids In Crisis and other local organizations.
April 22nd is Earth Day around the world. Thank you for shredding. Be assured that all shreds will go directly to paper recycling facility to be remanufactured. Recycling paper save trees which are crucial to the health of our planet.
