For nearly sixty-five years since its opening, the Augustin family farm is the only surviving produce farm in town. Augustine’s Farm offers a wide variety of flowers, eggs, honey, herbs, fruits, and vegetables during the vibrant summer season.
Augustin. Augustine. No, it’s not a typo. John and Kathy are the Augustins, but over the years, according to John, so many people added the “e” that they threw their hands up in the air and kept it.
At the farm this week, offerings include beans, beets, blueberries, bok choi, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cilantro, corn, dill, English peas, fingerling potatoes, gold rush (yellow) zucchinis, hot peppers, Kirby cucumbers, marble potatoes, orange flesh melon, parsley, strawberries, sugar snaps, Swiss chard and much more. Though the farm isn’t certified organic, no pesticides are used!
Farmer John said that through October Augustine’s has the highest-quality produce and an abundance of it. Get it while you can!
Augustine’s Farm is located at 1332 King St in Greenwich. They’re open daily 9:00am-5:00pm and Sundays 9:00am ’til 4:00pm.
They’re also on Facebook!
