Greenwich has a new source for eco-chic fashion. Modern minimalist fashion brand Eileen Fisher, which has had a location in Westport for many years, has opened a store in Greenwich at 252 Greenwich Avenue. True to the brand’s commitment to ecologically responsible practices, the store features multiple sustainable elements.
The company has a reputation for social responsibility and a focus on empowering women and girls. On Sunday the display of the 3,550 square ft store contained was made with denim scraps from recycled jeans. In fact, according to a statement from the company left as much of the existing space at 252 Greenwich Ave in tact as possible. The goal was to make a concerted effort to reuse, repurpose, or recycle as many elements as possible for the retail space.
Additionally, much of the store’s furniture and visual elements were sourced locally, giving the store the feel of a local boutique infused with the unique flavor of the Greenwich community.
