Greenwich Police responded to a hit and run crash in the area of Ritch Ave and I95 in Byram involving a car that sideswiped a tractor trailer and fled the scene on Jan 15 at about 4:30am.
Investigation revealed that the driver of the fleeing vehicle was traveling east on Ritch Ave, with his headlights off, when he swerved into the opposing lane of traffic and struck the rear tires of the truck’s trailer. The car, which had damage linking it to the crash, was found parked on Hamilton Avenue.
The driver, Mynor Elias Ramirez-Lopez, 26, of 169 Lawn Ave in Stamford, did not have a valid driver’s license. He displayed signs of having consumed alcohol and was unable to perform field sobriety tests to standard.
Mr. Ramirez-Lopez was charged with Evading Responsibility, DUI, Failure to Drive in Proper Lane, License Classification, and Failure to Have Lights Illuminated.
The bond for Mr. Ramirez-Lopez was set at $250 and he has a date in Court on Jan 30, 2017 in Stamford Superior Court.
