Update: Thursday 3:20pm. Reached by phone von Keyserling’s attorney Philip Russell said, “Any contact, if it occurred, it was trivial. And from my limited understanding was never meant to be malicious or sexual. The statute seems to require one or the other.”
UPDATE, Thursday 11:13am: Greenwich Police reported that Christopher von Keyserling, 71, of 402 East Putnam Ave, in Cos Cob was arrested on Jan 11 and charged with sexual Assault 4th degree, a misdemeanor, following an incident on Parsonage Road. According to the report, at 4:00pm, Greenwich Police Det. Sergeant Scorca responded to the Town of Greenwich Town Hall at 101 Field Point Rd to arrest Mr. von Keyserling, advising him he was being placed under arrest for a warrant resulting from an investigation.
After he was processed, his bond was set at $2,500 which he was able to post. He was released from custody at 5:40pm.
Mr. von Keyserling has a court date on Jan 25, 2017 in Stamford Superior court.
Original story, Wednesday, 8:00am: At Wednesday night’s RTM meeting of District 8 Chairman Christopher von Keyserling announced that he had been arrested earlier in the day and charged with Sexual Assault 4th degree, following an incident at Greenwich Town Hall.
Sexual Assault 4th degree is a Class A misdemeanor or class D felony according to Connecticut statute Sec. 53a-73a.

Greenwich Police Lt. Kraig Gray confirmed von Keyserling was arrested and this story will be updated following the press briefing later Thursday morning.
