Tony Pampena is nothing of not succinct. “I love Christmas I guess I never really grew up,” he said when asked why he kits his house out in the most extraordinary display of holiday lights every year. Thirty-one years to be precise.
Pampena has been a firefighter in Greenwich, based out of North Street, for 27 years.
On Thursday night Pampena, wearing a Santa hat, personally greeted everyone who arrived at his home on Lewelyn Road in Stamford, a short drive from Exit 9 off I95, and handed out candy canes to the children.
It’s possible there might be another house decorated with abundant lights, but Pampena’s is probably the only house decorated for a 360° tour: All four sides feature a light show and the roof and entire front yard are illuminated as well.
Mr. Pampena was featured recently ABC’s “The Great Christmas Light Fight.” The show highlighted extravagantly decorated homes for Christmas.
As guests peppered Mr. Pampena with questions, it was understandable to see he already had a list of FAQ’s posted in his back yard.
