On Sunday at about 6:00pm, the super moon lit up Byram Harbor like never before, and Monday will afford another chance to witness the spectacle!
Stargazers are delighting in the rare super moon phenomenon. On Monday night the full moon is expected to appear at its biggest and brightest since January 1948.
When the Moon is at its farthest it is said to be at apogee. When it is at its closest it is at perigee. A perigee stage super moon appears about 14% bigger and 30% brighter than normal.
Monday’s temps will reach 60° making for pleasant walk in the park or along the shore to take in the spectacle.
For the best viewing, make sure to get as far away from other light sources as possible.
