Peter E McMahon, 25, of 90 Pipers Hill Road in Wilton was arrested on November 9 for an incident that happened after a party last August around 4:00am.
Back on August 28, Greenwich Police responded to the scene of an accident Round Hill Rd near French Road in which a 2006 Lexus RX 400 had crashed into a tree and stone wall.
At the accident scene, police found the crashed car, and a short distance away they located Mr. McMahon walking.
“McMahon was intoxicated and didn’t know why he had taken the vehicle, but said he was very sorry,” Lt. Gray said, adding that the car belonged to a Greenwich woman whose daughter had driven it to a party of young adults.
Lt. Gray said that the daughter had taken a taxi home from the party and intended to retrieve the car the next day. “Unbeknownst to her, this man took the car and crashed it,” Lt. Gray said, adding that Mr. McMahon suffered lacerations and was taken to the hospital.
Subsequently police obtained a search warrant to test McMahon’s blood to determine blood alcohol content.
Mr. McMahon was charged with DUI, Failure to Keep Right on Curve/Hill, Distracted Driving While Committing a Moving Violation and Using a Motor Vehicle without Permission.
His bond was set at $20,000 and he has a ate in court scheduled for Nov. 21, 2016 in Stamford Superior Court.
