The Flinn Gallery, in conjunction with Friday Films at Greenwich Library, has a special treat scheduled for Friday, September 30.
The movie will be shown in the Cole Auditorium at 8:00pm.
“Seeing Beyond the Moment” is an autobiographical film of the legendary photographer, George Tice.
The movie was shot and directed by two of Tice’s prototégées – Bruce Wodder and Peter Bosco – successful photographers in their own right.
All three – Tice, Wodder and Bosco – are featured in the current exhibition in the Flinn Gallery “American Lens: B & W Photography.”
In the film, Tice shares the process of taking five new photographs, from location to darkroom to finished print. Of special interest are conversations with two of his daughters and interviews with leading authorities in photography today.
The Gallery will be open for an “Art Lounge” prior to the showing of the movie, from 6:00 to 7:45. Wodder and Bosco will be present, as will the curators of the exhibit and members of the Flinn.
The Gallery will serve light refreshments. After the showing of the movie, Peter Bosco and Bruce Wodder will be present for a “talk back” with those in attendance.
Copies of George Tice’s latest book “Seldom Seen” and a poster of one of his iconic photos will be available in the Gallery and at the Cole Auditorium.
On Sunday, October 2 at 2:00pm, Bruce Wodder and Peter Bosco will be in the Flinn Gallery for an artist talk about their own work.
All events are free to the public.
The Flinn Gallery, on the second floor of Greenwich Library, is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00am – 5:00pm, Thursday until 8:00pm, and Sunday from 1:00 – 5:00pm.
