On Tuesday morning around 8:00am, members of the Greenwich Police Narcotics second conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Mead Ave in Byram, which is in the vicinity of New Lebanon School.
Lauren Keala Demane, 41, of Chapel Street in Greenwich was a passenger in the vehicle and and was found in possession of Marijuana. The investigation which was assisted by a police canine revealed Demane was in possession of folds of heroin, two small baggies of crack, several syringes, a glass smoking pipe and other drug paraphernalia.
She was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Narcotics, Possession of Crack, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Narcotics within 1,500 feet of a School, Possession of Crack within 1,500 feet of a School, Possession of Crack within 1,500 feet of a School with Intent to Sell, Possession of Narcotics within 1,500 feet of a School with Intent to Sell.
According to Lt Slusarz of Greenwich Police, this arrest stemmed from collaboration with Port Chester Police. “We had a lot of help from Port Chester Police,” he said.
Demane was able to post $5,000bond and has a date in Stamford Superior Court on May 11, 2018.
