The 59-year-old Greenwich woman who was struck and knocked to the ground by a car on the evening of April 17 in Old Greenwich is expected to make a full recovery, according to Greenwich Police.
At the Monday police briefing to press, technician Roger Drenth said the pedestrian who was hit when she crossed the road near the intersection of Sound Beach Ave and Arcadia, was in ICU for two days and expected to be released and make a full recovery.
Drenth said the woman had crossed against the signal, and received a written warning to use the pedestrian crosswalk. That was the only enforcement taken.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the woman immediately stopped and is cooperating with investigators.
The incident remains under investigation by the Greenwich Police Department’s Traffic Section.
