On Thursday, April 12 around 11:00am, Greenwich Police observed a vehicle with an obstructed rear plate in the vicinity of I-95 and exit 5.
A Dept of Motor Vehicles query indicated the vehicle’s registration was suspended for lack of insurance compliance.
The driver, Oliver Fernando Vasquez, 35, of Piave Street in Stamford, gave a fake ID to officers on scene.
Then, when inventorying the vehicle, police found white powder testing positive for cocaine, as well as a fake Pennsylvania driver’s license.
Vasquez was arrested and charged with Violating Readable/Lost Plates, Driving with Suspended License, Illegal Possession, Forgery 2 and Interfering with an Officer.
Mr. Vasquez was able to post his $5,000 bond and was released. He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on April 27, 2018.
