Theodore Schimenti, 27, of 2 Benedict Place in Greenwich was arrested on Saturday, June 20 at about 3:30am after Greenwich Police observed a car stopped sideways in the roadway in front of 23 Benedict Place.

Officers on scene observed a man outside the vehicle trying to push it and determined that the operator of the vehicle, identified as Mr. Schimenti, had lost control of his vehicle, which then struck a parking meter and phone pole before coming to a rest in the roadway.

Upon further investigation it was determined that Schimenti displayed bloodshot eyes and the odor associated with the consumption of alcoholic beverages.

Schimenti was asked to submit to a series of standardized field sobriety tests, which he did not perform to standard. He was then placed under arrest and charged with Driving Under the Influence, Failure to Keep Right, Traveling Too Fast for Conditions and Unsafe Movement.

Schimenti posted $250 bond and has a date scheduled at Stamford Superior Court on June 20, 2015.
