Storm update from the First Selectman’s office 3:30pm, March 21Town Public Works and Parks and Recreation crews continue to work plowing Greenwich roads as the March 21 Nor’Easter continues to drop heavy, wet snow in the region.
Greenwich Police ask that residents abide by the Snow Emergency and on-street parking ban to allow crews to quickly, safely and efficiently continue snow cleanup efforts. Since late Wednesday morning, Greenwich Police have ticketed and arranged for the towing of 20 vehicles parked along snow emergency routes.
The list of snow emergency routes can be found on the Town’s website.
Police Chief James Heavey said there have been less than a handful of motor vehicle accidents. No injuries were reported. “We advise people to stay off the roads and to only travel if absolutely necessary,” Chief Heavey said.
There aren’t any power outages reported in Greenwich as of 3:30 p.m., March 21.
Should residents lose power and are in need of a warming center or a place to charge their electronic devices, the Public Safety Complex, 11 Bruce Place, is open 24/7.
Town officials will continue to monitor the progress of the storm throughout the evening in the Emergency Operations Center.
An update is expected to be released after 9 p.m. March 21.
