Thursday night got a little bit hairy at Western Middle School. Students, staff friends and family donated pony tails and had their heads shaved to raise money for St. Baldrick’s Foundation to fight pediatric cancer. The staff from Montana for Men did the honors and there were so many volunteer shavees, they did four of them at a time.
A group of parent musicians from J and the B-Sides entertained everyone with rock music and the GHS cheerleaders under the direction of WMS guidance counselor Erin Montague gave extra encouragement.
The event was organized by Kerry Gavin, who previously organized the annual event when he was at Greenwich High School.
