On Feb 22 Greenwich around 11:20am, a vehicle being driven by Ranjan Mitra traveling south on Sheephill Lane was observed to go off the road and onto the curb.
During a motor vehicle stop it was confirmed that Mr. Mitra, 29, of 28 Gregory Rd in Greenwich, had an active arrest warrant stemming back to a motor vehicle accident in 2017. He was arrested and charged with DUI, Failure to Drive in Lane and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Mitra was able to post his $20,000 bond and has a date in Stamford Superior Court on March 9, 2018.
Back in December 2016, Mr. Mitra was arrested after Greenwich Police responded to Cos Cob to serve an active warrant that stemmed from an earlier incident in which the offender called the victim’s phone and related that the offender was going to “come there and blow (the victim’s) brains out.” Mitra, was charged with Threatening 2nd degree.
Also, according to the Dept of Justice website, Mr. Mitra was found guilty in 2011 for Evading Responsibility and Property Damage for an incident in Greenwich stemming back to April 2011.
