Letter to the editor submitted by Patrick Lemarchand of Greenwich
To the Editor,
I am opposed to the significant change of Zoning in the Town of Greenwich. This Benedict Place project will destroy the town to the benefit of a very few and at the expense of many.
We will destroy Greenwich as Stamford was destroyed many decades ago. It is classic developer’s speculation against common sense.
If the owners of the buildings on Greenwich Avenue were less greedy and their lease more reasonable, the shops would not close. That’s simple, you could see it coming this since 2008.
This new monstrous project won’t change anything positively at all. Let’s hope that the Town will appropriately act to the benefit of all of Greenwich.
You only have traffic on an Avenue if there are stores of all kinds and you need brands too, this is called retail marketing!
