On Wednesday Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich kids, ages six to 18, celebrated Valentine’s Day with an ice cream social courtesy of former Greenwich First Selectman Rebecca Breed, who is also vice chair of the Club’s Board.
Valentine’s Day marked the 10th year year Ms. Breed sprung for the event, a favorite among the kids.
The Clubhouse brimmed with heart streamers, Valentine’s decorations and ‘Thank You Rebecca’ cards created by the kids who highly anticipate the annual event.
Mrs. Breed has helped countless students fulfill their dreams of attending and completing college.
In addition to her Board commitments, Rebecca volunteered in the Club’s Learning Center and helped children with homework. As a native of Greenwich, she served as Selectman for six years, two as First Selectman. Afterwards she went to law school and practiced juvenile law in Stamford for many years.
The Boys & Girls Club is located at 4 Horseneck Lane in Greenwich.
