Over the past two weeks the Greenwich Police Department hosted a series of Critical Incident Management programs for local managers from emergency services, government, citizen groups, hospitals, and the private sector.
More than 50 Town leaders have completed the three-day program to date.
Critical Incident Management is not only for the police and fire departments. The principles and the approach can be applied to planning and managing almost any incident or event.
The training was provided by BowMac Educational Services who offer nationally recognized programs that uniquely combine classroom instruction and practical, hands-on scenarios utilizing simulated exercises.
Participants learn best practices to manage any type of critical incident utilizing an “All Hazards” approach.
From the initial response to a Critical Incident through the eventual Recovery and Mitigation phase, students are walked through “Lesson’s Learned, the hard way” with in-depth Critical Incident Case Studies.
The courses provide the no-nonsense skills and confidence required to manage the response to any type of crisis, large or small.
