The International School at Dundee (ISD) will host its first Greenwich Color Challenge Run and Obstacle Course on Saturday, October 7, starting at 9:00am.

The 1.5 mile run/walk starts and ends at ISD, taking participants on a journey around Riverside and Old Greenwich and through four or more powder color stations and over 10 obstacles. When traveling through the color stations, volunteers will throw non-toxic food-colored corn starch at participants so by the end of the journey runners are a walking rainbow! according to the school’s PTA.

The event, which will be held rain or shine, is open to the public with all proceeds benefiting PTA-sponsored curriculum enhancements.

Registration is available at GreenwichColorChallenge.com through October 5 for $40. All Greenwich schools
have a discount code that may be found in their respective newsletters.

“We are very excited to bring a color run to Greenwich! The event promises to be a blast and we hope to see local families and folks of all ages enjoying a morning of color, challenges and just plain fun,” said Ana Laborde, ISD PTA Co-President.

The course features obstacles such as Dangerous Dodgeball Alley, Bridge Over Troubled Waters, and The Spider Climb. Two water stations will be provided for runners along the course, and pre registrants will receive a race pack with a t-shirt and sunglasses. All participants will receive a ribbon.

“We are thrilled to host the first and only color run in Greenwich. It’s a unique event as it caters to everyone – those with strollers, kids, tweens, teens and young adults as well as daring grandparents,” said Lindsey Fahey, ISD PTA Vice President of Fundraising. “We are excited for this to become another of Greenwich’s iconic, can’t miss events. We will be there wearing tutus, feather boas, and jogging sweatbands, ready to be pelted with colored powder. How about you?!”

The International School at Dundee was authorized in July of 2003 as an official International Baccalaureate school. ISD is one of only 181 IB Primary Years Programme (IBPYP) authorized schools in the U.S., and one of only a few elementary schools in Connecticut to receive the IBPYP accreditation. ISD offers programs for students from kindergarten through fifth grade.

ISD has a student body population of 365 students and is comprised of students who live on designated streets, as well as magnet students from throughout Greenwich who apply to the school via a lottery system.
