Curiosity Concerts has just announced its 5th Anniversary season of free, professional, one-hour concerts that take place at different venues in the Greenwich area.
On Friday, September 29, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 pm at Western Middle School students will “play it forward” again as they host the second annual “Greenwich Playing For Change Day” on “Playing for Change Day,” which is a worldwide event promoting global music education.
The free, family music festival in Greenwich will kick off the Greenwich’s Curiosity Concert Series featuring Nation Beat, followed by student performances.
The entire community is welcome to join the Greenwich Public Schools for an evening of inspiring music. For more information, please visit: https://playingforchangeday.or
Visit www.CuriosityConcerts.org to learn about all of the eight concerts taking place between September 2017 and April 2018, and mark your calendars and make your reservations.
These concerts are designed to be as appealing for adults as they are for children. They are suitable for children of any age who can enjoy one hour of music (usually age 5 and up, but you know your child best; they are not for infants or toddlers).
These concerts sell out and run wait lists. The “no show” rate is high. Please, only reserve if you are certain to attend, and release your seats if someone gets sick or your plans change.
This year, Curiosity Concerts is directing all donations it receives to its partner organizations.
Please consider a donation when you reserve your seats, to help support the work of great community organizations such as Greenwich Library, YWCA Greenwich, Audubon Greenwich, and others. More info at www.CuriosityConcerts.org , or email curiosityconcerts@gmail.com.
Curiosity concerts’ 5th anniversary season begins on Friday, September 29, with a FREE 6:00pm season-opening concert featuring Scott Kettner and Nation Beat at Western Middle School, 1 Western Jr Hwy, in Greenwich.

Scott Kettner and Nation Beat’s live shows have taken on an almost mythological aura for their ability to lift the souls, and the feet, of their growing cross-cultural audience. The band’s music melds Brazilian rhythms – maracatu, coco and forro – with New Orleans funk, rock, jazz, bluegrass and country blues. On September 29th, drummer/percussionist Scott Kettner and the band will continue to explore the traditional sounds of New Orleans and Brazil.
This free, one-hour concert is presented as part of a community music celebration at Western Middle School spearheaded by WMS and Greenwich Public Schools, in support of Playing for Change and global music education.
Curiosity Concerts is directing all donations for this concert to the Playing For Change Foundation to support global music education. Hats off Western Middle School students for supporting this initiative!
