On Saturday afternoon a shoplifting incident at Sephora ended in some shoving on the sidewalk and a store employee having his phone stolen by a suspect.
According to Greenwich Police, on Saturday around 3:20pm, a store employee attempted to use is phone to video tape a group of suspected shoplifters and followed them out of the store.
Lt David Nemecek of Greenwich Police said the items stolen were worth approximately a couple hundred dollars.
Nemecek said the employee followed the suspects – three women and one man – onto Liberty Way, where one of the suspects, the man, shoved the employee and took his phone, a Samsung Galaxy.
At that point the Larceny became a Robbery because the suspect stole the employee’s phone.
The incident is still under investigation.
