How do we raise caring, compassionate children while living in Greenwich?
Many Greenwich families wonder and worry over this important question as they step back during the summer to reflect on their goals for their children. Is private schooling, focused on a values-based approach the best way to ensure our children will grow up to be charitable, engaged and socially responsible? Are their certain organizations we should be involved with to make sure our kids socialize with children and families who support our spiritual or ethical values? Who in Greenwich can we turn to for advice, for modeling, for support? What if we are new to town or not a member of a synagogue, church or moms’ group?
Chabad of Greenwich has been offering answers to these and other vital questions about parenting for over 18 years. Every year, Chabad of Greenwich invites world renown parenting experts to a summer conference that offers a chance for parents to network and support one another in the most important vocation in their lives, to be the best parent they hope to be.
This year, two break-out sessions along with a lively panel discussion will be offered. The event will be held at the Bruce Museum on Thursday, July 16th at 7:30 PM. There are no questions to small nor too sensitive. The warm, nurturing environment created by Chabad allows parents to ask their deepest questions and to talk about any concerns in a supportive community of like-minded parents.
This year’s experts are compassionate mentors that are highly respected in their fields. They include Greenwich-based psychologists, Dr. Dale V. Atkins and Dr. Judith Zackson. Dr. Zackson has a private practice in Greenwich and Dr. Atkins is a regular parenting expert on the Today Show as well as numerous other media outlets.
The evening will also feature parents who have raised large and small families in Greenwich and opportunities for participants to gain support from mentor moms and dads.
