Julie Alberty has been named Associate Producer for Curiosity Concerts. This is a new position for the Greenwich Arts Council’s program.
Curiosity Concerts, entering its fifth season, is a series of free family concerts featuring professional musicians. The concerts are designed to introduce adults and children to a variety of musical genres, as well as to provide a unique opportunity for families to enjoy one hour of music together. It is a project of the Greenwich Arts Council and was founded by Producer Shelly Cryer.
As Curiosity Concerts’ Associate Producer, Alberty will help manage the full range of work connected with organizing the concert series, as well as help expand Curiosity Concerts’ outreach programs to reach more under-served families, both in Greenwich and in neighboring communities.
Alberty is presently the Executive Director of VolunteerSquare.com, a website that connects volunteers with nonprofit agencies in Connecticut. Her background includes a combination of nonprofit and arts management.
Formerly the Manager of Community and Family Programs at Lincoln Center, Alberty led the team that launched a family engagement initiative for those who wouldn’t otherwise have access to Lincoln Center, serving more than 700 families in just two years. She established arts education residencies at domestic violence shelters and secure detention sites serving court involved youth, as well as managed Lincoln Center’s partnership with the NYC Administration for Children’s Services. She brings expertise in family programming, community partnership development, and nonprofit management.
“I am thrilled to join the team and work with Shelly on Curiosity Concerts. I believe strongly in providing quality arts programming for all families and I look forward to a successful 5th anniversary season,” Cryer said in a release.
Curiosity Concerts 5th Anniversary Season will be announced later this summer.
