Greenwich High School Musical “Annie” is in Full Swing!

While for many “spring” means warm weather and time outside, the Greenwich High School theater department is always busy in the rush toward mid may when the school stages its annual spring musical.

This weekend is the debut of “Annie,” focusing on the life of a young girl with a free-spirit in search for adventure.

“I performed this same play in middle school and it’s astounding to see how much more sophisticated the actors and the entire show itself is,” said Jenna Conti who plays Edith in the production.

The spring musical is open to students from freshmen to seniors who perform and collaborate, working several hours after school every day to prepare for the performance.

“I really love the cast and working with everyone since I came to GHS my freshman year,” said Nick Kach, who is one of the seniors performing in the play. “It’s amazing to watch my peers develop as performers from their first show.”

Annie engages her audience throughout the show as she is plucked from an orphanage in New York City and embarks on an adventure to find her real parents.

With countless twists and turns, from encounters with villains like Miss Hannigan, Annie’s encounters are one surprise after another.

Annie is a show the entire family can enjoy and laugh along with.

“The energy of everyone is unforgettable and I hope that even though they play a family in the show, everyone can see how it has really become one too,” said Sam Carbino, a stage manager who shares the same passion for show as the cast.
