The Greenwich Police Department in partnership with the Junior League of Greenwich will be hosting the third annual Police Day at the central Greenwich Police headquarters building on Saturday May 9, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.
The event is free and open to the public. All families and citizens of Greenwich are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Police Day in Greenwich is held as part of US National Police Week, hosted from Washington DC and across the country, with a series of events to honor fallen officers in the line of duty each year.
First recognized by President John F Kennedy in 1962, the Greenwich Police event provides an opportunity to learn about the resources and services utilized to keep our community safe, as well as to share personal appreciation for the bravery of our men and women in uniform who serve the town of Greenwich each day.
Attendees will have an opportunity to take a guided tour of the office complex, meet police team members in person and thank them for their service, see a variety of equipment the department uses in their work, and to see a special American Flag workshop conducted by the Police Honor Guard, the Police Explorers, and the Cub Scouts.
The Greenwich Police headquarters is located at 11 Bruce Park Place, central Greenwich, CT 06830. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Sargeant John Thorme, Community Impact Section Supervisor at (203) 622-3660.
The Junior League of Greenwich has been bettering the community for over 50 years. It is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained individuals.
