At about 6:30pm on March 19, Greenwich Police on patrol observed a blue GMC pickup make an excessively wide right turn onto Old Field Point Rd and fail to maintain a proper lane while traveling west. Police also saw the pickup truck cross the double yellow line on Old Field Point Rd.
During on scene investigation police observed the driver, identified as Steven Stallings, 56, of 10 Talbot Lane in Greenwich had the distinct odor of alcohol. Mr. Stallings admitted to consuming alcohol. He was also observed to be lethargic, unfocused and unsteady on his feet while exiting his vehicle.
Mr. Stallings failed to perform field sobriety tests to standard. He was arrested and charged with DUI and Failure to Drive in Proper Lane.
His bond was set at $1,000and he has a court date in Stamford Superior Court on April 3, 2017. He was released without incident.
