On Feb 25 at about 4:15am, Greenwich police responded to the intersection of Delavan Ave and Tingue Street on a report of a police cruiser that had been struck by a driver in a black Acura TSX.
The Acura driver, Stalin Freire, 29, of 7 Tower Lane in Norwalk was observed to have glassy bloodshot eyes and the odor of alcoholic beverages.
Mr. Freire was unable to perform field sobriety tests to standard and was arrested for DUI and Unsafe Backing. He was released to a friend after posting a $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on March 6, 2017.
