Yale New Haven Health’s Northeast Medical Group (NEMG) and The Osborn have partnered to enhance care for residents and patients at the continuum-of-care community for older adults located in Rye, NY.

Franklin A. Loria, MD, an internal medicine physician with NEMG, has assumed the role of medical director for The Osborn. Dr. Loria is an NEMG board of trustees member and medical director of its Greenwich region. He received a medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York.

Herbert Archer, MD, director of Greenwich Hospital’s Hospitalist Services, will work with Dr. Loria to care for patients admitted for short-term rehabilitation at The Osborn. Dr. Archer is a graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine who completed his residency at Columbia University Medical Center. He also serves on the NEMG board of trustees.

“We are so pleased to offer our residents and patients exceptional medical care from Northeast Medical Group physicians,” said Matthew G. Anderson, president and chief executive officer of The Osborn. “As part of Yale New Haven Health, they can offer our residents an unsurpassed depth of medical resources through their network of more than 130 physician practices, which includes top specialists in Fairfield and New Haven counties, as well as New York’s Westchester County.”

“We are delighted to partner with The Osborn, which has a long-standing reputation as the region’s preeminent continuum-of-care retirement community,” said Prathibha Varkey, MBBS, president and chief executive officer of NEMG.

“The two organizations share a commitment to excellence in patient care and service to our communities,” Varkey continued. “We fully support their mission to provide independent living along with a full continuum of health services to address the changing needs of older adults.”

The relationship also provides opportunities for NEMG patients to learn more about services available at The Osborn, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, short-term inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, and skilled nursing. In addition, Osborn Home Care brings trained aides into homes in Westchester and Fairfield counties for those who choose to age in place or who are recovering from surgery or illness.

Northeast Medical Group (NEMG) is a not-for-profit multi-specialty medical foundation established in 2010 to integrate physicians across Yale New Haven Health System and help provide more coordinated, comprehensive, safe and high quality health care for patients across the entire continuum – primary, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitative and preventive care. NEMG represents more than 130 practices and 700 physicians and medical professionals affiliated with Bridgeport, Greenwich and Yale New Haven Hospitals. www.northeastmedicalgroup.org
